Samuel Gary Doherty (33) of Canal Side was jailed after an eleventh hour plea of guilty to assault on police, resisting arrest and disorderly behaviour.
At 3.50am on December 26 last year a PSNI team was called to flats at Lisnafin Park following a report from a female that someone had tried to kick her door in.
As police were speaking to the female Doherty appeared at the door alongside her, asking officers “what the f*** are you pigs doing here?”
He was told to go back inside and, concerned that there was going to be disturbance, police decided to leave. As they were going down a flight of stairs though Doherty followed them, being abusive. – READ MORE
