Police Promote First Female Lieutenant, Mark Retirement Of Veteran Officer

Theresa Healy is sworn in as the first woman lieutenant in the history of the Eatontown Police Department and will serve as the department’s commander of investigations. KAYLA MARSH/STAFF EATONTOWN – The borough police department officially marked several changes in the ranks, including the promotion of the first woman to attain the rank of lieutenant and the retirement of a veteran officer.

Detective Sgt. Theresa Healy, who joined the Eatontown Police Department in 2004, was sworn in as a lieutenant, the first in the history of the department, at the Borough Council’s Aug. 26 meeting.

Healy will continue to serve in the department’s detective bureau and will assume the role of commander of investigations, assuming all duties and responsibilities of Lt. Lawrence Tyler, who has retired after 27 years with the department. – READ MORE
