County Set For First Female Police Chief

Hampshire Constabulary looks set to appoint its first female chief constable after the county’s police and crime commissioner (PCC) named his preferred candidate for the vacant role.

Sussex Police Deputy Chief Constable Olivia Pinkney has been identified as the first choice for the position following “a rigorous recruitment process” involving senior partners from 18 organisations across Hampshire.

She was awarded the Queen’s Police Medal in the 2016 New Year Honours list, while she also spearheaded the launch of a campaign to address child sexual exploitation and was involved in the response to the Shoreham Air Crash last year. – READ MORE
