After a 27-year career with Edmonton Police Service, Danielle Campbell, a woman who broke down barriers within the force and rose to one of its highest ranks, has made the move to assistant professor at MacEwan University.
In 1989, Campbell enrolled in training with Edmonton police because she wanted to become a dog handler. She became the first woman to break into the specialized unit.
She went on to hold various positions before finishing her career as a deputy chief, the highest post any woman has held in the EPS.
Campbell left the organization this past spring. In her new office at MacEwan, where she teaches courses in leadership and criminal law, Campbell spoke with Postmedia’s Paige Parsons about her policing career. – READ MORE
