Surrey RCMP Officer Couldn’t Do Job ‘Without Having A Heart’

SURREY — It was in a gymnasium at an Ontario high school that Michelle Adriaanse first knew she wanted to be a cop.

“There was a career day at our school and there was a female RCMP officer,” the Surrey sergeant recalled. “She was very energetic and positive and you could tell she loved her job…. That’s what struck me.”

In that moment, at 16 years old, she knew she would one day become a police officer.  She told her parents soon after, and they were surprised. Her mom had hoped she might follow in her footsteps and go into nursing, she said, but her family supported her decision all the way. – READ MORE
