RCMP Hoping To Increase The Number Of Female Recruits

How times have changed. 

All potential recruits should be aware,  every major Canadian police force is aggressively competing for female recruits.

Women should take the time to compare all potential employers on issues of; healthy environments, reasonable workloads, officer safety as well as pay, benefits and pension.  

 

 

Toronto Police Department is a good example of how a police force recently transformed its organization and became an employer of choice for new hires, both male and female.  Hopefully, the competition is watching” Jane Hall

The RCMP are on the hunt for new female recruits to join the force.

Manitoba’s “D” Division held a recruitment lunch Thursday for prospective candidates to meet with officers and learn about the possibility of a career as a Mountie.  Currently female officers only make up 20 percent of the force.

“The RCMP would like to bring that up to 50 percent in the next 15 to 20 years,” said Cpl. Marc Sylvester. “ Our goal right now is to get to 30 percent in the next 5.” Read more
