NEWARK — Sheilah Coley, the city’s first-ever female police chief and police director, is calling it a career.
Coley officially retired Saturday after 25 years with the department, ending a historic tenure that saw her hold every available rank.
She was named the force’s first female chief in 2011, a job she held until becoming the first female director after Samuel Demaio retired in March. – READ MORE
