Malala Yousufzai did not win the Nobel Peace Prize but the mark she has made on the global stage is clearly visible to everyone, including her most vocal critics Taliban.

The Pakistani teenager – who was shot in the head by the Taliban just a year ago, only to stage an astounding recovery, not just of body but also spirit – would have been a worthy winner. But she needn’t despair at being ignored. At the age of 16, she has time on her side and plenty left to do in her moral battle against repressive Islamic fundamentalists.

Malala has wowed the world with her bravery and perseverance, her Gandhi-esque principles, and heroic story. She has turned into a symbol of the fight against Taliban oppression and is widely seen as representative of girls across the globe who are deprived of their right to education because of their culture, traditions, and social ethos. Read more
