Galloway Names First Female Police Chief

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP— There’s a new chief in town and she’s the first female police chief in Atlantic County’s history.

Donna Higbee, a 13-year veteran of the Galloway Township Police Department was sworn in as police chief Wednesday evening. Higbee was named acting-chief last month after Pat Moran retired from the post. Higbee will earn $135,000 as chief.

Higbee, 39, has deep roots in the community. She was born and raised here, the third generation of a family who settled a section of the township known as Higbeetown. – READ MORE
