A female police officer has been hailed a hero after arresting a suspect who disabled her radio during a violent struggle and prevented her from calling for backup.
PC Amanda Henderson was on patrol in Kingston, south-west London, on Sunday, when she and her colleagues saw a stolen VW Golf speeding through the town centre.
The car failed to stop for officers and was pursued through several back streets before the driver fled the stolen vehicle.
